I harvested two glass jars of kveik voss yeast in March last year (14 months ago) and was wondering if it would be OK to use it again. I have never harvested or reused yeast before. I didn't wash it or anything like that I simply poured it into a couple of sanitised jam jars.

If it is OK to use should I simply just pour it all into my made brew or should I mix it or heat it first.

I have two extract kits I am making an Ipa and a stout...would it be worthwhile using the kveik voss or just use the bog standard yeast thar comes with the kits?

OK re-read.

Absolutely bin the kviek. No doubt. Too long.

Next bit....
If you want them to taste anything like you are expecting, use a good yeast. Try CML they have a good range or use the one with the kit.
Kviek is a VERY DIFFERENT FLAVOUR.
