Happily for me the ambient temperature has finally come down to a point that lets me “naturally lager” my beer, I don’t have a fridge set up yet so I have tried to use the cold weather to get the required cold crashing and lagering done without one.
What’s peoples lagering recommendations/ regimes? And will the 2-3 degree swing in temperature expected through the next 48 hours be an issue? This is my first Lager brew from a kit, having mostly been brewing ciders over the last couple of years.
Thanks

Morning,

If you have a garage or outhouse that's relatively stable in temperature, you'll be fine. I don't think the 2-3c swing will matter all that much.

The first time I lagered without a fridge, I racked to a secondary vessel first and just left it alone for a few weeks without worrying about temperature etc.

I'm sure it'll be fine.

I bottled my Budvar clone today, I’ll leave it for 14 days in the house and then moved it to the garage for all of January before I start drinking but obviously many will be still around at the end of February.
