I wantes a shiny FV but then I would have to build a fermentation fridge, so got the cheapo Wilkos Plastic FV and made a waterbath and Aquariam set upm and that has made so much of a deference as it was ok up here in the day but night time temps would stop the yeast working its magic, fermemntation is so much more aggressive with my new set up so can only be a good thing
 
Can kits always have a twang to me. You never get this with ag or biab!
For years the canned kits have had the "homebrew" taste to me. I was never able to pin down whether it was the yeast that came with them or the extract. However, a friend has just started extract brewing and the that taste is hardly noticeable, if at all. Maybe they have improved them or maybe they're not staying on the shelves as long.
 
Interesting reading. I think the crux of it is no one cares as everyone enjoys their hobby and the pleasure of drinking their own brews. I'll drink to that🍺🍺
