hi everyone,
just wondering what people do with their beer once its been kegged?, I'm never sure wether its best to leave it somewhere warm while it carbonates and then move it to somewhere cooler to clear down and condition or move it straight to somewhere cooler as soon as its been kegged. Whats the general consenus on this?, I've got a number of books on the subject but they seem a little vague on this point

Are you referring to a corny keg, or a plastic pressure barrel.

If it is a corny keg then Wendys answer is correct.

If it is a plastic pressure barrel then you need to leave it somewhere warm for a week or two for the pressure to build up, then move somewhere cooler for the bubbles to get absorbed into the beer and to serve it.

I use a plastic keg, Whatever I brew I dissolve 80g of white sugar in boiling water let it cool and pour it in with the beer.

Leave it for a few days on the work top in the kitchen then onto the stone kitchen floor for around a week.

I'm lazy and impatient so normally start sampling it at this point. The last thing I want to be doing is lugging around a keg full of 40 pints here there and everywhere.

I use plastic kegs, i always leave mine for a week in the warm (regardless of what the kit instructions say) then move somewhere cooler to condition
