Juniper (usually berries) can indeed be used in beers, and is commonly in the Scandinavian countries according to Google.
It also says
Code:
There are many different varieties of juniper, and each will produce berries with different characteristics and flavors. Some varieties are even toxic and may be dangerous to add to your beer,
That includes branches....are yours bought or home grown :hmm:

I think its juniperus communus :L been used for thousands of years to treat diabetes by native americans wiki says

The viking-age scandanavian brews used the juniper branches as a filter for the grain by packing it at the bottom of a perforated timber vessel.

The berries are more commonly used to add to the taste and aroma. I recently put on a 10L brew using Juniper berries, and even though the taste and aroma is quite unique, it is not near enough to replace hops !

I did not only use Juniper, but also some hops additions, but even with my hops and 10g of Juniper upfront and another 7g towards the end, the taste and aroma were just fine.

What would your brew-length be with 0.7kg of fermentables ? 5L ?
