Hi Guys, I have now decided to make the move over to the Dark Side and start All Grain :)

I have ordered my first All Grain Mash Kit from the Home Brewing Centre which should be here soon. :)

Thought I would document my progress here of obtaining and building my new All Grain setup.

The Postman arrived with this today,

The Coleman Xtreme is supposed to be a good choice of cooler to be converted into a Mash Tun, I am just about to start on replacing the dodgy tap with a nice new Ball Valve and also making the Copper Manifold.

I will post more pics of my progress later on.

well done good luck to you....will see you on the " other side " ...

Thanks Guys, cant wait to get started!!!

I have finished the Mash Tun, cutting all those slits in the manifold took ages!!!!

I also picked up some 10mm copper pipe (10 metres) to make my own wort chiller, but thats a job for tomorrow!!!

take your time and do it right and to the best of your ability...there's no rush you can still brew with kits in the mean time.

What are you using for your boiler ?

looks great mate. what did you use to cut all of the slits and what size pipe did you use. looking to jump to all grain brewing but looking at all the equipment i have got to buy its looking like it could be quite pricey. Any expense saved would be welcome lol

the copper looks like 22mm..is that right..does it matter..i have 15mm pipe to make my strainer :hmm:

It looks like 15mm copper pipe to me. I used 15mm for my may tun not not had any problems yet :thumb:

Nice work Jay  Most shop bought manifolds are15mm. I would imagine due to the larger curvature 22mm would give slightly more hole surface area than 15mm but it won't be much.

Hi Piddledribble, thanks for the advice, it was reading your thread that made me decide to move over to All Grain.

I am waiting for the Postman to deliver my boiler, it should be here today :) Its a plastic Electrim Mash Bin but it will only be used for heating water and boiling the wort, I know they are not the best but for the price I payed for it it will do the job untill I move over to SS.
