January Brew and Swap

Evening all. Once again the collaborative brew has turned up some interesting observations and I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of the reviews as they come in.

Next on the list was Speciality IPA, brewing in January to swap last weekend in February. We just need to pick a sub-style to brew to. As before post your preferred style below if you‘re interested in taking part. Broad options are as follows, and if I’ve missed one you’re keen on let us all know.

I‘m voting for Rye first choice and Belgian second.

I’m going with Brut first as it’s something I’ve not heard of before and sounds interesting, then White second.

A lot of people said that about cream ale and tropical stout!
I’m easy, like @samale, but I do want to brew something new.

Just not a fan of the style as I find they lack any of the malt character or body when compared to a West Coast IPA.

That being said, if it is selected as the style I'll probably still have a go to see if I can be convinced to change my mind!

Tho, having looked at a few of these beers I'm intrigued by the Belgium and Dark IPAs.

I'm in, and I would like to try a rye ipa as haven't done one before but it's been on the list for aaaaaaages.

Whilst SWMBO watched The Wonder I’ve done my first draft of a Rye IPA as that's the front runner so far.

I like the idea of a DIPA but happy with most of the options.

With that vote, it's 5-4 to Belgian, just ahead of Rye at the minute. We'll give it to the end of the week before declaring a winner.
