My local landlady has said I can have a pub size co2 bottle (FULL!!)
for £12 quid !
I bit her arm off
are there any saftey points I should be thinking about with a bottle that big

Not sure how big pub size is in lb's but the bottle is about 4-5 foot tall and abou 4" diameter

Excellent price :thumb:

I'd screw a chain to the wall to secure it from toppling over

You should ensure that it can't get knocked over, it should also be tested every 5 years. If you're lucky you might just have emptied it by then!

That's a bit of a bargain, I pay £11.20 every time the gas man comes round to swap my 6kg bottle (no deposit and no rental) and I thought that was cheap!

thanks I'll arange a chain to keep it from falling over.
What's the worst that can happen if it did and is it ok to travel horizontal in my van from the pub to my house?

Falling over in itself isn't terrible, but the worst would be to land on something and break the top off the valve in the process. Its been proven that the resulting rocket can punch the cylinder through a masonry wall

If you take it places in the car/van in summer make sure it doesn't get too hot - the pressure increases massively with heat and I believe the safety can go and let all the gas out in a controlled-but-still-not-wonderful kind of way. Othewrwise I don't think theres any problem unless you crash or something... so don't do that either :)

cheers
