Thanks for the heads up/PM David. :thumb:

I'll get in touch with FA

Stuff it, I really can't be bothered again.
Anyone who wants me knows where to find me.

Very true indeed, because your User Name is showing you as a guest and displaying your email.

You have a PM.

David sent me a PM (here), I managed to log on with the temporary password FA told me last time, hoped he might be predictable and that turned out to be the case.

Deleted that account, although the email address it displayed was only created to use on Freecycle and is never accessed now.

It's down again with users getting made ex-members and even if that doesn't happen being unable to post.

I think I know how Moley will feel if it happens to him again.

My visits have become less and less frequent, if it wipes me out again I won't bother going back, unless it's to delete however many parallel accounts I now seem to have.

I'm logged in one my two 'parallel accounts', the first one was also made an ex-member, but the second - David_NOT_exmember - is getting access but can't post. I guess it'll look pretty stupid if that one gets made an ex.

I managed to get a post in that it may be going down out before I was denied access and I have emailed the FA.

Hello there wurzel. I noticed it had also booted you out.

A few months ago I had problems trying to gain access to the forum for a third time. After spending ninety minutes trying to create new accounts with different email addresses, user names etc etc I gave up.

Its a shame because its a great winemaking site with quite a few very knowledgeable members who are always willing to help. Problems with the site are becoming too frequent so I really can't be bothered with it anymore.

On the plus side, this site has a great winemaking section which is always a pleasure to read.

You and me both

There's a core of very knowledgeable winemakers from whom I have learned a great deal, but the freeware board software is complete pants.

It should now say “Moley - ex-member” but that's my choice, it allowed me back in for long enough to empty my mailbox and delete my own account.

I'm just wondering what will happen when Forum Administrator shows up as an ex-member :wha:

Well, I love that forum but I have to admit that even I am getting pis*ed off

Ditto.

All seems to be sorted now.

But for how long before the next hiccup?

I'll still drop by and read some of the new posts from time to time, but have deleted myself and can't reply at the moment. View any new accounts with suspicion, I can't completely rule out a return.

Anyway, I have to come and read FT's crappy jokes, just for the occasional gem.

I pop in to refresh my sieve like memory, but seldom post any more.

Shame about the recent break down the friendly/knowledgeable people deserve better

It has to be said that FA did fix it all PDQ.......we miss you Moley coming and correcting our spelling and grandma :D

Gosh darn thang!, I was immune to the last lashup but this time it got me, is it a technical prob or is it anything to do with a new member with a website?.... not mentioning any names just incase I'm wrong....... ;)

It seems that if you draw attention to yourself by trying to log on it will get you. If you've told it to log you on automatically at every visit, just calling up that bookmark is all it takes.

Yes, I thought that by deleting site specific cookies I'd get back in but only as a lurker, and if I re-joined and posted with a new user name before it's fixed that name would also be disabled.

I forgot to mention I immediately emailed the FA advising of the problem + giving user name, number of posts and joining date (that last one also went adrift by a couple of years last time) to assist in restoration of the membership file. Getting quite familiar with the procedure now .....

I just looked and thought the site was up as lots of those being shown as ex-members had been reinstated, including me.

However, just one mouse click was all it needed to eject me again
