Its still down, Which is a right PITA as i wanted to see how Richards AG set up was comming along.

Just had a word with Fermenting Tom and there was a major fault on Friday.

Engineers/technicians are now working on it and hopefully the forum will be up and running later today.

Good news is that only about 2-3% of members are still Ex-members.

Bad news is that it seems that 2-3% consists of most of the regular posters!

I'd noticed, it made me a guest before I became an ex-member again, I can't log on or open any thread.

It has some great members and a wealth of winemaking advice to offer, but the board software is bloody useless.

He didn't heed my rant though, did he? IIRC the old version suffered a disastrous crash some time ago too, which is why there's a load of old stuff archived.

What I suggested was that a forum with that sort of membership base should really be on a proper platform like this PHP board or Invision power board, but all Forum Admin did was upgrade to a slightly newer version of the same freeware.

WARNING:

If you've become an ex member, when you get back on with a new passwd from the FA, even if you have selected the 'Hide Email' option in User CP, an email contact button will display at the bottom of your posts, which if clicked on will open Outlook, etc. and reveal your email supposedly hidden email address.

And even if you then try and change your email address in User CP it doesn't take effect and still displays your previous one.

That's why I have deleted my 'David' user account there.

So it's not back to normal yet (although Moley might think so!).

P.S. And I couldn't modify any earlier posts nor add a signature.
