Immersion Chiller for 10L BIAB brews

Hiya

I have just started BIAB (one down so far). One of the issues I noted with the first brew was how long the "cooling in a sink" method took so I have been looking at immersion chillers this morning. Would one like this be suitable for a 15L stockpot (and approx 10L of post boil wort?)

Yup, it'll work.

You could probably make one yourself for about half the price, entirely depending on the price of copper coil. This would also mean you can make it so most of the copper is submerged in your wort.

There is a chance this is too tall to make full use, depends on the size of your pot and the height of the coil

Thank you for replying. Having a little 'un running round and not having the time or patience for DIY means buying one is an easier if lazier and more expensive option! My kettle has dimensions diameter 28 cm, height 25 cm.

I was also about to suggest going down the DIY route, but having looked at the current cost of microbore, you wouldn't save that much. The chiller in your link appears to have 20 coils, i.e. 200mm tall. So unless your pan is nearly full, you will lose some of the cooling efficiency, but still much more effective than dunking in the sink.

It also looks like from the advert on ebay the seller makes them to order. There may be some flexibility on your request.

I'd ask the seller if they cna make it to a certain spec for you. Advert implies this
