The estuary at the bottom of our road has been frozen over, its tidal and yesterday it was impessive to say the least, there were blocks of ice as big as cars which had been clumped together by the tidal movement :!: this morning the temperature was - 11 again so I had a wander down to take some pics :!:

the first pic was taken a little while ago so you've some idea for comparison, nice flat sand without lumps

last nights tide has either moved some of the big stuff away or its ground it down a bit, but still shows how cold we've been :?

Now if you had put a penguin as well I may have thought that that was photoshoped but that has to be real.

Is seal stew on the menu?

Now are you at the north or the south poles, if Santa was their then I know that you were in the North pole and that it was real.

Couldn't resist. Here's one I took at work a few years ago:

Here

I know, not all that relevant, but the pics reminded me.

The piccy with santa and the penguin .........

I drove past that spot this morning and the whole estuary was icebound from there upstream

I think last nights high tide pushed the ice back and compressed it again, some huge blocks, just hope no kids decide to go and play polar explorers on there it will be incredibly dangerous :!:
