What I don't understand is what volume of CO2 to put in different bottles. For example would a glass bottle with a crown cap hold less carbonation than a PET plastic bottle? I am looking at the brewer's friend calculator but it doesn't help without knowing what number to put in the CO2 box.

I'm going to attempt this today I have mangrove Jack's cider yeast
Going to maybe try apple and raspberry
Or apple and mango
Will I have to do anything to make it sweet and fruity

Think I failed already just got 20 of these can it be done

I'll start with the caveat that I have not actually tried using this stuff myself, so someone else may come along and demonstrate that my thinking is way off.

Anyway, as I understand it the killer ingredient is preservatives as they can stop the fermentation. From the ingredients list it looks as though you may be ok on that front. How much sugar is in it? Apple juice is normally around 10g or 11g per 100ml. If this is only 3g they it won't produce much alcohol. Also it does contain sweeteners so the fermented version may turn out rather sweet - although of course that may be a good thing if that's what you like.

Overall I wouldn't try to make a cider just from this (might work better if using mostly apple juice and adding some of this for flavouring). If you want to crack on with it then presumably you will need to add an appropriate amount of sugar to reach your target ABV%.

Any idea what abv I would get from this should I add some dextrose?

Am I right in saying it could only be 1.1
19 litres of juice in a20litre batch

I would be happy with 4.5 max minimum 4 percent

Looking at the Tesco website that juice drink seems to contain 2g of sugar per 100ml = 20g per Litre so 20 Litres = 400g. To get that to ABV 4.5% seems to need about another 1150g of sugar, so a 1KG bag plus another 150 grams.

Obviously double check my figures before deciding to proceed!

Most of the recipes on here use fruit juice (various)

What you have is fruit drink.!!!!!

Not the same at all, The main ingredient is just water.

Pure apple juice generally contains enough sugar to make a 5% abv cider on its own.

Still I could see no mention of sorbate so it should ferment.

The end result is likely to be very bland,But don't let that put you off
Just get juice next time not drink.

There is no need to use turbo yeast, just use cider or wine yeast.

If I wanted a sweeter cider, and wanted to use artificial sweetener, when would I put it in and how much of it please?

Also would you de-gas a little before you prime to get rid of the carbon dioxide smell / taste? This is something that's always confused me - adding more gas to a smelly brew lol. Please put me straight!

Cider is something I haven't tried yet but really want to get right!

What you need to do is just make some. Buy the yeast with sweetener already in it.
When you've made it you've got a baseline to work from, you then adjust your recipe to suit your own taste.
What one person tastes or wants is totally different to another.

If when you've got a finished brew which isn't sweet enough to your taste then add sweetness until it suits you.

So went ahead with anyway 19 liters of the juice drink
2 tins of peaches in syrup
200ml raspberry syrup
750 g dextrose
1 litre strong tea
1.5 litres water
Was going to bash up 6 sweet apples and throw them in but something told me not to
Hope it turns out ok
Og was 1038 so possible to come close to 4 % may be if its drinkable
