Hi All,

I've harvested and washed some from my last batch.

Now I've been reading about yeast pitching rates and the bit that is most unclear to me is 'how do I know how much yeast I have in my jar'?

Any insight much appreciated!

Thanks,
JT

Get an identical jar and fill it with water to as accurately the same level as your able too. Then measure how much water you've got. This will give you how many ml of yeast you have

The yeast in the jar will be (once packed down as far as it's going to be - crash it in the fridge for a couple of days to get to this 'compactedness' if you haven't already) 1.2-1.5 billion cells per ml ( usuallly go for 1.5bl/ml)
