How much yeast do i add?

Kit yeast. Meh.

The trouble is that you dont know how long the kit yeast has been standing around for and at what temperatures. I store my dried yeast in the freezer but your kit may have spent months hanging about sweltering warehouses....

I recently did a Brewferm Kriek kit and am very disappointed with the performance of the yeast. I should have thrown it away and used some of my own.
 
It's very possible that my yeast was old stock. I didn't check the date but did notice other yeasts in the shop past their best before when i popped in the weekend. Lesson learnt.

I'm pleased to say though, that after adding another packet, this lager finished at 4.0% ABV . Was lacking flavour i must be honest. I'm sure it'll improve nicely though, as i did add 25g of hallertau and gave them a good squeeze when i took em out.
