How do you choose your next kit?

So, when buying your next beer or wine kit...... Do you look for reviews online, do you look for what's on offer, do you look for ones you've had before or do you just go into it blindly and just get one you've never had before to see what it's like?

Recommendations on here for beer usually; wine kits I take a punt and go with something that gets good reviews or is of a variety that I know I like. So far none of the kits have been bad (usually Beaverdale or California Connoseur for wine).

The 1st kit I did was a Coopers Lager as it came with the microbrewery. I've just put on a my 2nd brew today which was a Milestones raspberry wheat beer.

I chose the Milestone kits as I saw it in the window of the local homebrew shop so I did a google search and saw it had some good reviews.

At the mo I got for mostly brewferm and muntons kits, whatever one interests me and that I haven’t done

I go to my local home brew shop and look on his bargain shelf where he has some tins that are a bit battered and he is selling them with a couple of quid off.

In the cold months i brew dark ale or bitter and in the summer nearly always lager

I'm playing the field at the moment, seeing what works for me. I've just come back to home-brewing after a break of about 5 years, which itself was preceded by a previous break of about 20 years!

So far I've gone for a Cooper's IPA (because I like IPA) just bottled, a Munton's winter warmer (because it's that time of year) currently in the FV and a St Peter's Ruby Red (because it's a beer I've enjoyed before as a commercial product) awaiting preparation.
