Thames Water have now announced their ban commencing on 24 Aug. Looks like a return to the kitchen doing extract kits from Dark Rock for a while.
I'll be trying no-chill for the first time I think. Might be able to squeeze in a brew before then, but it's not really in the spirit of the ban.Thames Water have now announced their ban commencing on 24 Aug. Looks like a return to the kitchen doing extract kits from Dark Rock for a while.

I’ve got solar panels so my tumble dryer runs on free renewable electricity in the summer, but not in the winterDishwashers should be banned full stop, and tumble dryers in summer, dishwashers are for lazy people
I've moved back to the UK after living in Australia for 30 years. I've started doing no chill brewing here. Mainly because I don't have easy access to water when I brew in the back garden. Strangely I never tried it in Australia. So far I'm very happy with the results. I'm just trying to get the hop additions right to compensate. Not sure I'd go back to my plate chiller.Well the whole idea of no-chill came from Australia where they are obviously more worried about water conservation than here - just seal it up and let it cool overnight.
It's marginal but it would be within the spirit of the ban if you collected all the water from your chiller in the bath say, and then used that water for permitted purposes like flushing toilets, watering indoor plants etc.
