Hi people.

I know only a few of you will be interested in this but is there a local (N.Ireland) supplier who can compete (in terms of prices) with the online companies for beer kits etc?

I know there is a supplier on the Newtonards road, belfast (nature's way) but their prices aren't very competitive compared with, say, Brewsmarter (based in Galway). Problem with them of course is the delivery charge!

Any leads would be great. Thanks in advance.

hey dermy

http://www.thehomebrewcompany.ie/ is the cheapest iv found- £5 per delivery no matter what the weight. not sure bout that other pace uv mentioned- will give it a look. i'd be happy to order with you and split the delivery cost= where you live again? im in finaghy. i've recently gone All grain,and the difference is incredible- if you ever wanted to come over for a brew and brew batches together i'd be happy wit that. was actually thinking of trying to start a brew club in belfast.

let me know,

Matthew

Hi Matty.

Sorry I'm only replying now - posted that last item as I went out the door!
I wouldn't mind meeting up for a brew - we could exchange a few although if you've gone all-grain I imagine yours is a lot better than mine! Honestly I'm not "big into brewing" - I only do it for a hobby and because it is a money saver!
But as I say it would be great to meet up for a beer - I live on the Stewartstown Road (which MUST be around the corner from you.)

I like the idea of a Belfast Brew Club - I've already converted one of my mates to brewing so we would have at least 3 founder members!

Perhaps I should have made the connection......Matty you are only too well aware of the sites......Doh!

For Kit stuff, House Of Homebrew (actually Nature's Way) on the Upper Newtownards Road are cheaper than you will find online, even before you factor in postage. The Woodefordes kits are £19.99 in there which is the cheapest I've seen. I'd be wary to double check any advice they give though - since they had no grommets they recommended I seated an airlock in my FV with blu-tac! The two ladies that run the place are more wine brewers and the actual shop is more centred around health foods & supplements with a home brew section.

They're cheap enough for various odds and ends of equipment too but they seem very expensive for grain/hops so I've ordered that stuff from thehomebrewcompany.ie
