Any makes or sizes I should look out for? Last year I pressed 20kg of apples with a homemade contraption (a vice and chopping boards) and I plan to do twice the amount this year!
Im thinking of either buying a 12l of a 18l press? Would either be more appropriate?

Im not sure to go for something slightly more expensive as I want it to last? Or are thesee sort of things good quality anyway?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Liam

We stuck about 60kg of apples through one of the smaller 6l presses a couple of years ago. Quite hard work... but I think the 12l model would make a big difference. 18 sounds considerably bigger and maybe something hydraulic might be easier work?

Yeah I wanted to avoid the 6l ones. I think something hydraulic is a little of my price range.
How many gallons did you get out of the 60kg? :)

I think we got about 8-9 gallons out of that lot - it was a good yield :D
