Hi all,
I only got bought a home brewing kit for Christmas.
To I'm totally new to all this. I got bought the Young's brewbuddy 40 pint lager kit and 24x500ml bottles. (cue Harry Hill turning towards the side camera)
After umming and ahhing and looking on forums, youtube, etc (as I wanted to get off to a good start) I bit the bullet yesterday afternoon and went for it.
With my house not having central heating I doubt I can get a constant 18-21 degrees as the instructions suggested but decided to put the bucket (that nearly broke my back) under the stairs. I've seen many recommend 50F for lager which goes against the instructions, but then again I've seen this guide (viewtopic.php?f=30&t=24822) which I have found useful.
So I'm hoping it will just take longer to ferment and no doubt I will drink it if the end product is chilled enough lol.
Still... it's my first do so no doubt I'll want to perfect it before giving in.
I've ordered some more bottles and bits. Here's hoping.... :
