But for almost all of those 15% it is "just" some loft insulation which is not a particularly big or complicated job to add, it's not like adding cavity insulation. It's going to be what <10% of the cost of the project?Therefore 15% do and these will no doubt be the ones with no room for a water tank and with radiators and pipesthat are not up to the job, the price is also going to put many off.
And as I keep saying - radiators being "not up to the job" is just not a thing any more.
Cost is always an issue - but it's getting sensible at last, qv Octopus saying that the average install in the UK now costs £5.5k and 90% of their installs are less than that, and they start at £500.
There will always be outliers, but at least we're in the range of being feasible for a large proportion of the population (given that replacing a boiler has always been a financially crippling job for many people).
