Thanks H. Who is that woman? I feel like I should know.

Having thought about it I think it may be for different sized bottles. What do you think? I'm assuming the bit with the metal bottom is for glass and the other for plastic?

Sarah Pantry. She’s a beer judge and has a website and videos - Daft Cat. She’s also the organiser of the UK National Homebrew Comp.

That’s one of the seals that fits either end of the shank. I can’t see if the shank screws into the tap body with your model or is moulded. If it’s screwed in unscrew it and check there’s a red rubber seal fitted. The other goes in front of the metal barb where the beer goes in.

Yes, the cam lock with the metal plate is for glass, the other for PET.

It's way too big for that hole. There's a smaller one already in there.

The one on the 'beer in' barb is even smaller.

Because it’s Russian made and the taxes paid by the Russian manufacturer would go toward the Russian war effort. Not sure how many tanks £20 will buy in Russia.
Surely if they made the decision to stock Russian goods then they should stand up to their decision. All too late though because they have been named. How did they approach the subject?

H didn't say if he got it from the same place or not. He just said it was the same price.

I'm assuming he bought his first (before mine) as his arrived first.

Whoever it is, they're naming themselves if they place an advert on the WWW.

After a good brewday I’ve just tried my Brown Ale and I’m not happy with it - maybe I spoke too soon about Friday 13th!

The aroma is bright berry fruit and a little toffee, not what I was expecting from a brown ale. The flavour is also dominated by fruit. Not sure what I’m going to do with this, it’s not nasty but also not enjoyable. Half a pint in and I have a fruit fly in my beer - where the hell did that even come from at this time of year?

No cause for concern there. Maybe one of the malts you used?

Fruit flies, they never give up.
Nothing that would give all that fruit, MO with some crystal and a bit of flaked barley.

The yeast is the obvious candidate but I used 2 packs of Liberty Bell and fermented at a pretty constant 19-20 so there was no cause for stress.

I hadn’t used the challenger hood for a while so I wonder whether those hops had oxidised. I don’t remember them smelling oxidised though, I’d perhaps expect them to be a bit cheesy and I certainly didn’t notice that.
