It's on Holmeside diagonally across from sinatras. You get stopped by the shoplifters on the way in trying to sell you cheese, bacon and Lynx. Blandford is marvellous in comparison.

Aaah, is that why all those kegs were on Waterloo Place, next to Reed's?

Edit: As it happens, Google Street View has been updated with images from this month. Look at this classy establishment...

fitzgerald's is a canny bar in the town. some of us over on jims forum meet up there now and again for a few beers and a bit of crac in there.
theres in general some nice beers to be had but is on the pricy side for me :-(

I'm sure the Vedett is £5 a pint in there. Good pub though, especially when the sun is out and you get a seat in the beer garden. Don't take kindly to non regulars winning prizes in the quiz on a Thursday mind.

We used to win the quiz in The Ivy House all the time, never been to the one in Fitz's

Gods country - Sunderland. Can't knock a spoons for a value pint.

I actually live in Gods Country just up the road in Newcastle and even on the Quayside you can get pints for £3.00 upwards. Been to Sunderland once to the Dun Cow, again another brilliant bar!

Pennine pale in the Crown Posada a cracking bar and pint £3.00, it's the house beer!

Nah mate, that's not gods country. It's got nee beaches for a start. Dun Cow is a good bar but again it's one of the expensive ones. Used to be brilliant years ago but went downhill until Camerons bought it.

Dun Cow is great, and now its got that restaurant upstairs which is great. It improved when Head of Steam got it, but now Cameron's have bought THoS as they want to grow their portfolio.

Aye, they bought the Isis as well. A good beer bar but a bit soulless.

I liked the Isis. Used to go in there, the Museum Vaults and then down the Kings down the bank, that used to be a nice pint in there. Dunno what its like now though.

Haven't been in the Kings for years, was always a bit cliquey for my liking. Love the Vaults, so much so that I lived above it for 6 years!

So is it where the toy shop (same name) used to be years ago?

55p a can which is the cheapest I can find (Fosters 20 for £11), £3 a pint in my local and I can do a brew easily for under £10.

Can you plug those number in?

Grainfather is definitely on the horizon for me in the next year.

£4 a pint in pub brings the figure back to 160 pints break even for GF.

This is fun!
