Grain hops and wonderful stuff

Just spent 96 quid on our sponsors site, got more grains and hops than you can shake a stick at, along with a coopers recipe pack and some yeasts. Ill post a pic of it when it arrives, im very exited on planning out about 6 months worth of brews haha

I have just had a 25kg sack of Maris Otter delivered which is sat behind my chair at work.

Does this stuff ever go out of date??

I got a 25kg sack a few weeks back and it's nearly out! Too true that you can never have enough!

Got some chocolate malt, about 10kg of various DME, some fuggles, 4 kinds of yeast, sanitiser and a new hydrometer arriving sometime between 3pm and my death :thumb:

yeh i got a 25k sack of mo too crushed as i dont have a grain mill. In total i got 10 different grains and 9 varieties of hops along with s04 and s05 yeast. I just picked grains and hops that ive seen used in alot of recipes. My friend will be using some of them also, hes doesnt have the room for bulk grains and hops so he just gets what he needs from me at cost. Its going to be one heavy box!

My first AG is going to be Landlords from Graham Wheelers book - i have done the Festival Landlord bitter kit recently so want a straight comparison to how much better (hopefully) the world of all grain is :

Then it will be Black Sheep Riggwelter

Then Flowers IPA

Then who knows - the world is my maltster

Ive got a black sheep clone planned next with the new ingredients, but already got a mash kit for blueball brewery spank IPA so will be doing that first

I got the kit from runcorn homebrew supermarket, the blueball brewery is right next door and they sell extract kits for alot of their beers as well as beers from 4ts brewery which is also in the same block of units, you either add dme or marris otter. Interestingly though the hops grains and yeast are all unmarked in plain packets so ive got no way of knowing the recipe.

Ah poop! Took the dog out for a walk and missed the delivery. Will have to get it redelivered, was hoping to brew tomorrow so thats probably out the window

scratch that, i applied online for redelivery tomorrow and the bloke turned around and came back, top marks dpd. Everything looks great apart from one packet of hops was not vaccum sealed im assuming it got punctured in transit so i have put it straight in the freezer. Overall very happy with thehomebrewcompany great value and quick delivery. Time to get planning a few brews now.
