I have a friend who keeps chickens and wants my spent grain. However we don't see each other that often, so my question is, can I freeze it? Is it worth it?

Do those 2 chickens eat all that?

Pretty much although it takes them a couple of days usually - it's quite amusing when I have just tipped it out of the mash tun to watch them hopping around on the hot grain  They are desperate to get at it so don't seem to mind getting scortched feet :D

Meanwhile back on topic, I shot mine into the leaf mould container and let it mould down. Yesterday I shovelled out several kilos of fabulous free soil conditioner :D I can drink the grain one year and eat stuff it's helped to grow the next year.

In the compost bin along with the hops. Yeast cake goes in too :thumb:

Same here, I have a veggie patch in my garden so it helps to add this.

Wicked sense of humour. I just ****** myself

A mate of mine tells me that if you throw cooked spaghetti in to the chicken pen.... they go mental as they think they are monster worms.... wait until they are at the other end of the yard throw in the spaghetti and watch them sprint.
Does anyone else here find a chicken in full sprint hillareous
While on the subject of hillareous fowl has anyone here taken a proper look at a duck. I mean the legs are at one end of a fairly fat long body and the head and neck are at the other. The thing is a walking overhang. WHere is the feckin ballance point?
