Sorry to hear your disappointment Mick, I know hoe disheartening it can be. But keep at it & hope it gets better in the next 4 weeks

thanks joey... :thumb: ..

i hope it does ,as i thought i did it right every step of the way ...

only time will tell...

regards mick... :hat: .

Thats the good thing about having plenty of bottles. You can keep duff beer for agers to see if it gets better.

I hope it starts to improve soon.

hi Hirsty... :thumb: .
i thought home brew was only good for a year max... :?
or is it becuse yours is 12%...

High abv beers can last longer in a cool, dark enviroment. In fact, large noble houses used to lay down high gravity beer for newborn sons to be opened on their 21st birthday. However, I think mine will last 4 years at absolute most.

I had a bottle of 'Sharps brewery quadruple ale' (10%) last week which noted that it would improve with age up to at least 10 years, I think I'd need several thousand of them to get just one to 10 years. nicest bottle of beer I've ever had :D.
But funnily enough the "best before date" reads 06.12.14, something not right there

its currently the only empty brown bottle i have.... and i've got stout ready for bottling in about a week.

i need to find a friendly pub in Manchester asap

I just got over 30 bottles from my local (not that I have used it a lot in resent years). They just go to the recycling plant, so I dont think its a problem letting you have them.
