Hi, I've done four Geordie brews and I usually leave it in the FV for around a week depending on Gravity readings and temperature.
Why the question, something specific?

just wondered i have left it 8 days and there is no activity showing i was thinking it may be ready to bottle but was going to leave for 2 weeks just to be sure then bottle.

What you think

Have you taken an Hydrometer reading? if so it should be around 1.009 for two consecutive days and then bottle, If you don't have an hydrometer then wait until the airlock stops bubbling (even then you can not be sure it's finished) My Geordie brew usually finishes in eight days at 22-24degC any lower it would take longer but I use a brew belt. If you leave it for two weeks it will be fine and will clear so you will have none or minimal sediment in your secondary or bottle,
I hope this is of help.

What are those geordie brews like? My pal who does a bit of brewing himself is a geordie and I thought it would be apt to do a batch but not got round to it yet.

This is my 1st batch of geordie which will be bottled on sunday so once ready after 2 weeks in the bottle i will let you know

cheers bungouk,

Look forward to that, just conditioning some cheapo beer to get my stocks up and all been great so far.. gotta love beer :)

Golder, Geordie brew is alright a tad week tasting but hey it's cheeper than most, I have had good results with all four kits but I may do the next one as a 20ltr batch instead of 23ltr, I have done a couple of Coopers lager and that is nicer and I've done a Coopers Draught(bitter) and that is excellent but of course they are about £5 dearer than Geordie brew.

ah weak is no good... I will likely avoid. Liking my coopers loads and my harvest youngs is due soon which is pretty cheap. my LHBS does it for about 9.20, cheaper than chips..

that said it will still likely be tastier than shop bought cack!
