Force carbing mini keg

Hi all, ive just picked up these to cut down on bottling

Any idea if they could be force carbed at all negating the need to to be fermented a second time in the keg?

I have the same setup and don't think it can be done, not 100% sure tho', hoping for someone to answer with more experience of these.

I used 12g of sugar in each of the kegs on the first batch I did and got a great creamy head but not alot of carbing, so leaving them longer than a couple of weeks to carb, first couple of pours were just foam but this is normal, I've been advised to leave it to carb for three weeks on a seperate thread to this one.

OK, started drinking this batch on Thursday(chilled), had a couple of pints that were carbed ok, then before I put the keg in the fridge I turned the C02 pressure dial up until there was a squeaking, f4rty sort of noise and then put it in the fridge until the next day(the beer needs to be cold to absorb the C02)and it was quite fizzy on the tongue, I repeated it again for the next day and all was good. I never did this with the previous batch and by day three the beer was all but flat. I've filled one with 16g of sugar to see if there is a difference but this won't be ready for a few weeks, I'll keep you posted.

Yeah, know what you mean, you can have that sort of setup on these but I would rather buy a couple of 19L corny's if I was going for that. Start small and if you like it then get bigger.

I did the same, just started drinking an Adnams Ghost Ship to recycle that too

Yeah, They knock out at £15 each and Ghost ship isn't too bad either.. Seeing as how you've got to carbonate in the keg, and it's already fitted with a tap, you could have saved half the dosh charged by Brewstore and got three cans of beer, too. If anyone's in Germany, I can recommend the Schlenkerla marzen from Bamberg. It's only about 14 euros a keg, but postage to the UK might be prohibitive at 25.50 for postage for three kegs (it's bad enough to France). And, as it's a smoked beer, you might not get the taste for it until well into your fourth can.

Having said all that and looked at the picture of the kit MrSar9e bought, I see it comes with a CO2 injector for little sparklets bulbs. That'll do the trick nicely. On the other hand, the bungs only work with the kind of tap supplied, while supermarket cans- Ghost Ship, Doom Bar, Shipyard etc, come with a bung you can twist to open and allow the keg to vent, or allow air in when the internal pressure is exhausted.

It's awful to have to drink the beer to empty the keg but someone has to do it. I destroyed the original bung getting it out but bought 5 replacements on eBay. I bought another mini keg of Budvar today so will have to force myself to empty it.

I hope this is the Czech version! Getting the bung out can be a bit of an art- I use the handle ends of spoons, like doing a bicycle inner tube. The thing is not to damage the bung hole in the keg.

I bought the same bungs as in the Adnams Ghost Ship from eBay as well, the grey ones fit that are in the brewferm kit so you can use the party star tap if you prefer.

I tried this recently and had an absolute clart on trying to get it out, ended up chucking the whole thing of the garage wall in anger. Is there a technique other than using pliers and a screwdriver? Oh, and a garage wall?

I force carb apple juice wine in a sparklets soda syphon.It works quite well ALMOST like champers.

I watched how to get the bung out on YouTube and then tried and destroyed it. I then bought replacements.
