Surely the pass was intended for Rashford though?

The problem is the players are so close together it puts the keeper off as it shows in the video, nothing we can do to change it now but teams are going to use this in future.

Listening to the 606 podcast and the first United fan on says if he was a city fan he would not be happy with the offside decision when he was asked if he thought United got lucky and he was not the only one, the first Liverpool fan on is predicting 10th if they don't turn it round he is calling for Clopp to be sacked and Pochettino to be brought in. :laugh8:

True, but I was more specifically referring to the preceding analysis where they showed that the defender (Akanji) steps up to play offside and Ederson initially moves to cover a shot from Rashford as he was shaping to shoot.
Never mind. 3 points still stand. United closing the top 2 down and Liverpool are a bunch of aging as beens

I think Arsenal have other idea's.
Nice to see somebody else in the frame for a change whether they can keep it up is another matter

If he's not interfering with play..., what's he doing on the pitch? To misquote somebody more famous than me. Absolute joke of a decision.

Getting tired of seeing a trail every weekend of same situation / different outcomes with everyone falling over themselves to justify the decision in each case - worst case are penalties still. For team A they say 'not much contact, but there is some...' then 'The refs got that spot on, hardly any contact there..'

Anyone want to comment on the Brentford penalty? Lock arms with the defender, pull him towards you and then fall over when he stumbles into you. Still Ivan Toney would have backed himself to score.

Think I was still naive enough to think VAR would improve the quality of decisions when I heard about it, but given up now.aheadbutt
Getting to the point where I think it might be better if the away manager was given the whistle, or one of the players Dads

There is a long way to go and an 8 point lead doesn't guarantee anything at this stage, some pundits on the sport radio are saying the Arsenal squad are not strong enough to keep this going all season and if a couple of their best players get injured they don't have the quality to replace them, time will of course tell if they are right.

Remember all the "you bought the league" type stick we got from United fans when our owners bought the club how short will their memories be now they are in the same position, I dont hear many United fans phoning 5live to say we don't want the money, talk about double standards!
