hi guys
kegged my lager last night and all I can get out is foam!
If I drop the pressure to 0 I get beer out but the slightest bit of pressure even 1psi and it turns to foam. Could it be temp related? It's never less than 17 under the stairs.
I also have a bitter in a keg that behaves much better.
Any thoughts.
Thanks
ben

A few things we need to know to be of much help.

What pressure did you force carbonate it at, did you really say you put it in the keg last night? if you have reduced the pressure greatly from when carbonating this can cause foaming.

What temperature is the keg at, and how long and what diameter is the beer line between keg and tap?

hi mate
I force carbonated it at around 30 psi for about ten minutes rolling it on the floor and a bit of swaying back and forth the temperature is 18*c at the moment And yes I kegged it last night. My cornys finally arrived so it was out the pressure barrel and into the corny could that be a problem aswel?

Lift the safety valve, cover with a plastic bag and leave it for a week.

Then carbonate it again, at 10 psi for a couple of minutes.

I'LL SAY THIS A BIT LOUDER AS PEOPLE DO NOT SEEM TO BE ABLE TO GRASP THE CONCEPT! DO NOT FORCE CARBONATE BEER AT 30 PSI DESPITE WHAT YOU SEE ON YOU TUBE!! ALL YOU ARE DOING IS CREATING A BEER FOAM FIRE EXTINGUISHER.

I carbonate water for the kids at 30 psi, Beer gets 10 psi ( at 12C) shaken 100 times three times over the space of 30 minutes . . . then it gets left for 24 hours before tapping.

Excellent I need some new fire extinquishers, and as you know being a secret brewer what an excellent way to hide the beer.
SWMBO is threatening a site visit and I have got 120 + bottles of beer and another 60l brew on monday
