Hi
So doing my first pressure fermentation kit brew (Dark Rock -Nectron )
10 days in and it has stabilised at 1.010 as it should for the last 3 days but still appears to be giving off a lot of co2 as the spundy valve keeps going way above 20psi, is this normal or if not suggestions ??

What pressure have you set the spunding valve set at? ,

And yes once fermentation has finished very little extra pressure should be generated.

Don’t seem to be able to set it as it only has one dial, still very green at this as you can see 🙄

Are you getting any carbonation out of your samples before checking the gravity? It might be still fermenting away but at 10 days I doubt it.
Open the spunding valve right off, pull your PRV for a bit to let the high pressure out and then start tightening in the spunding valve to get the PSI you're looking for. Just have a check every 5-10 minutes and adjust.
If you have a CO2 tank & regulator it good to dial it in with that before adding the wort.

Have you reviewed this video for instructions?

You can get a further ferment occurring due to enzymes in the hops that breakdown complex sugars into simple ones that the yeast can then digest, this is known as hop creep. This could be the reason for ongoing ferment. If your spunding valve is set to 20 psi then it will stop releasing once the pressure drops below 20 psi if that is what you set it for.

You mention it goes way above 20 psi it should be on the fermenter all the time not put on and taken off, how much is way above 20 psi?

It just seems to constantly set off the prv 🤷‍♂️

If the spundy is reading 25 psi then it will be running all the time until the pressure drops to the target pressure.

Turn the adjuster until it stops and this will tell you the pressure in your fermenter.
Then adjust it so that it is venting once the pressure drops it will stop and that will be your current pressure. If too high still adjust again to vent until it stops. Little bit of trial and error needed.
A ferment produces several hundred litres of gas and it has to get out.

Probably asking a daft question but do you have the spunding valve the right way around? The gas can only flow in one direction.
It’s not a daft question as I have no idea what you mean by the right way round?

I think the reference is to the kegland type spunding valve that you fit on 8mm tubing via the duotight connectors, they are gas source ( fermenter) then adjustment key and then gauge display and outflow.

The spundy valve doesn't have this you just fit it on fully and away you go adjust to the required pressure.
