Got the home brew bug big time now and just started my first beer. It's a Coopers Real Ale. Followed instructions to the letter and now have left it in my cellar to do it's thing. Fingers crossed all goes well. My only concern is that it says ideal temp is between 21-27 degrees. My cellar is about 18 degrees at the moment. Will this be an issue, did wonder about getting some kind of heat pad or belt but my wine seems to be bubbling away nicely so hopefully it'll be ok as is.....
Also bought a Wilko Golden Ale kit, read some good reviews on here so I'll give it a go once I've got a FV vacant... end next week.

18 degrees should be fine. I'd say 18-20 C is best for most brews, certainly 27 C is way too high.

Be patient and leave it in the FV for at least 10-14 days before bottling, then it will need at least three-four weeks in the bottle before it's ready to drink, although quality control testing :) before is inevitable.

Hope it turns out well.

Excellent, thanks. Hopefully be nice to drink around Newyear then...
