I accidentally did that with a kveik yeast when I didn’t know what it was capable of. Thankfully the FS V1 collection bottle is very strong.

But it didn’t go off with a BANG when I unscrewed it’s and I looked like I had explosive **** myself.

sad to see the V2 collection bottle is more fragile.

Get the FermKing kit for your Fermentasaurus saves a lot of cleaning and if you do happen to forget to open the butterfly valve it will just push the plunger up.

Poured the contents of my beer kit in and added the boiling water and it just went.

Boiling water does that to plastic based containers. I suspect it won't be intended for liquids much above 40 or 50 degrees.

It worked fine on the first brew. My **** up by the looks of it.

Yep, that's an expensive mistake. I'm sure you'll not mix boiling water and PET again in a hurry.

I'd probably use it. The pressure rating is probably out the window now though.

I'm not massively concerned about the pressure. I'll fill it with water and stick it in the garden, see how it holds 25L of water.

You can buy the body on its own. Try BrewKegTap or Angel Homebrew to see if they carry them, if not you can order direct from China.
You should not put water above 50C in them though.

@Grizzly Notations - How are you getting on with your Fermzilla? I'm tempted to spend some of my Christmas money on one.

One question that I can't seem to find answered - how big is it? I can't find dimensions on the website. Ideally, I'd like to be able to fit it into my fridge so I can temp control fermentations.

You can buy a replacement tank, so it's £40 down the pan. Not much consolation I know.

Have you seen any replacement tanks in the UK though? I've found them in AUS and US only so far.
