Fermentation Not Started

Did my 4th AG brew yesterday, a landlord clone kit from MM. Followed the recipe as per instructions, but couldn't get the wort down to 18deg so pitched a 19deg at 5pm yesterday. Have checked this morning and there is no activity from blow off tube is that to soon to seen any activity in blow off tube etc. The yeast was NBS ale, was in a garage before I used it would the recent hot weather effected it even if it was dried. Any answers or theories would be much appreciated

in my experience some ale Yeasts can take some time to get going, even 24-48 hours. I tend to keep my dry yeast packets in the freezer and take them out on breeing day.

Thanks for the info, however still no fermentation even after 60+ hours. Have read somewhere on this forum that i could pitch a spare packet of yeast into the wort and give it a stir to try and start fermentation, is that my best option to try and rescue the brew?

Take a check to see if there is any krausen on top as it may well have started and there could possibly be a leak in your fermenter allowing co2 to escape

Checked last night no Krausen on top, using a spiedel fermenter all items fully tightened, also checked blow off valve which was open. Anybody got a theory

Have just checked the FV and there is about 15/20mm of krausen on top, but still no blow off activity. Took a reading with the hydrometer and it's almost at target. So am I right to assume most of the fermentation has occurred?, will take some more readings over the coming days and keep an eye on it.

Patience is your best friend so let it sit for a week or so and let the yeast do its work as it may get down to the required FG but there is still a bit of finishing to do..
