Last Friday I half filled my keg with some Ritchie's simply lager (bottled rest). Instructions said store in warm for 5 days then move out to the cold to clear. I fell ill on Monday and have been pretty ill all week but now recovering. Actually went into hospital Weds night. Anyway to cut a long story short I was in no condition to move keg to the cold. When i went to move it early this morning quite a lot of beer was fizzing out of the side of the tap. I tightened the tap as hard as I could but still it is fizzing out.
Is this because it over-fermented in the warm and will it stop now I've put it in the cold (though still fizzing now)? What else can I do. This beer is for a party next Saturday, can I decant it into some spare bottles I've got if it only needs to be stored for a short period of time? Or is there no hope?
Please answer asap as beer is going to waste this very second
