Quick question re the Party Star:

I've finished my 1st keg using this (a shop bought keg of Ghost Ship)
All went well, last pint was maybe a little flat.

What do I do now?
Do I just pull the whole thing out of the empty keg, with the CO2 still attached,
or do I take the CO2 off 1st?

I don't think it matters as the co2 would have emptied into the keg already

I think there might be some left. I had it on the lowest setting and just blasted a bit in when the pouring got slow. It still makes a noise when I open up the valve.

Just ensure the CO2 is off and pull the tap out. I found that I could get about 11/2 x 5 litre kegs dispensed with one 12g CO2 cartridge.
I found that a carbonation cap for PET bottles (without the middle bit) will screw on instead of the CO2 cover and have used CO2 from a Sodatream cylinder with my Party Star tap. When using it with homebrew be careful to ensure there are no hop fragments in the beer as they can block a Party Star.

Thanks. Good tips re CO2 and hops.

WOW.... What a thread.

I joined last week specifically as I was asking about mini kegs on a Facebook group and someone there pointed me over here and said "Search for mini kegs. You'll know when you find the super threadx lol"

That was a lot of reading, and good info cheers all

Ashman, that is freaky, I have two of those exact coolers, and this was what I was hoping to do some how. They are juuuuust too small for two kegs, but fir one in with plenty of space.

I love that that manifold with gas in/liquid out. I found a build thread for them and was wondering about a mini regulator and running a soda.stream bottled on the inside to power it, but I don't know how big thise are yet,or if they'll fit, or even if I put ice in the bottom would that affect the co2 bottle?

Looks amazing though

I did rig mine up so I could tap commercial kegs with the black outer bung ( ghost ship style). In practice I replaced gas line with end stop as when I connected beer flowed up that line too. Oops. It worked ok ish using keg pressure although initial tapping is messy and having a tap next to my desk was not the best idea :). Also I got to a point where the pints wouldn’t pour but removing end cap to add gas line resulted in a huge beer outflow.

I do need to check dimensions for putting alternative keg for homebrew in there as it’s pretty much all ready to go tap wise.

Ok piggybacking this, hoping someone can help!

Have gone balls deep and bought a Klarstein Beerkules and a few mini kegs, wanted to see if there are any 5L stainless steel kegs that fit in the Beerkules?

I've followed a few You Tube videos and have made my own dispensing adapter out of a 1/4" stainless steel equal T, a 60mm nipple, a dip tube and gas & beer ball lock posts. Works a treat connected up to my CO2 regulator and bar mounted beer taps. I've also just drilled a hole in my fridge to feed the gas and beer lines through so I just keep the kegs in the fridge. Also works with the corny keg I've just bought for either conditioning home brew or direct fill from the local brewery. I am master of my own pub now!

Only got to page 16 of this thread and have purchased a couple of mini kegs... But that's about as far as I understand lol.

I've got a month or so until I've got 4 mini legs for 20l. This is such a dumb question... But what else do i need for home brewing?

Start by reading up on Beer Brewing - there's loads on t'Internet and here's just one of them ...

https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/howto/guide/home-brewing
Then you may start with a Beginners Kit like the one below ...

https://www.lovebrewing.co.uk/beerworks-bohemian-blonde-premium-beer-starter-bundle/
(They've got other types of beers.)

I suggest that you try a "Beer Brewing Kit" first to get your hand in and follow the instructions to the letter to save disappointment.

Enjoy!

Do you have pictures of this? I think this would be a great setup for me at home.

Have got an American West Coast Pale Ale to bottle/Keg has any body used finings in the Easy Keg 5L to enable the beer to be drunk sooner, as the fermenter sample tastes great, will dispense from keg using the party star tap.
Think this maybe in the wrong thread

Has anyone tried adding a Co2 valve to the top of these easy kegs 5lt?

https://justinview.com.au/2011/03/diy-mini-5l-keg-co2-system/
Presta valves can be bought super cheap on eBay. Fill the kegs using a Co2 bike tyre inflator? Test the pressure in the kegs by hooking a cheap bike pump up to the valve after filling with the tyre Inflator?

Seems like a great way to be able to pour a pint, re pressurise using the Co2 tyre inflator then be able to keep that keg fresh for months after the first pint was poured?

I have like 20 of these mini kegs. Would appreciate if someone could let me know if this would work or not?

I made a dispenser from an old corny dip tube and some bits and bobs, a fair few tutorials on youtube...

Replaced the 100mm nipple tube with a 60mm one so it doesn't dip into the beer as much, also it now has a disconnect for the gas as well as the liquid.

I'm now experimenting with conditioning a bitter in a couple of min-kegs to serve under very low pressure CO2 via a hand pump.

Hey guys just wondering are these easy keg bungs reusable? It's a two part system on these. Rubber bung with a red plastic insert.
