I have twisted the black bit off the Bung but can't get the tap in

Folks
There is a lot on the forum about MiniKegs/Easy Kegs and in particular Robhomebrew's excellent 4 part how to (thanks Rob).
I have had a look through all of this but am still a bit confused about two related things in particular:-
So I have a minikeg/easykeg with standard red/black top bung and a built-in pull out tap at the bottom.....
Can the Party Star Tap be safely inserted through the top bung (with the red locking twisty thing removed) when there is pressure still in the keg, say from priming, so the pressure is still sealed in, or do I have to wait until there is no pressure to install it either half way through after priming pressure has died, or at the beginning before any pressure has built up?
And similarly can the CO2 protector device (from Leyland HB) be installed to a pressurised keg through the top bung?
Anyone help?
Thanks

On the ones with the red twist top removed the tube just pushes through and you're ready to go, no pressure problems.
When I've used it there's been a burst of sediment in the first 1/4 pint or so but then it poured clear after that.
I don't know what the CO2 protector is so will watch this with interest

Is this in relation to my post? Removed the twist top and still can't get the long black tube in

Rob the Bung looks like the ones in your thread. I twist and removed the top. I have attached a few photos but due to the lights and shadow they aren't great. For some reason I can only post one image per post

Aha, different bung etc to the ones I've used. They have had a black outside and a red push through bit.
I'm sure I've read that it doesn't work on the one you have but maybe someone else knows otherwise.

I aint seen one close up but just thinkin, is the bung the same size as Rob's ones maybe you could prize it out and replace with the correct bung?

Yeah same size. I did begin to pull it out but beer started going everywhere due to the pressure. Just easier if I drink it all quickly and replace the Bung with the correct one. I have bought spares from leyland

The replaceable bungs have the red/black the other way round - black rubber bung with red inner twister - like these ones you can buy from Leyland home brew:
http://www.leyland-home-brew.co.uk/easy-keg-vent-bung-788-p.asp

The old speckled hen I got had the re-usable bung fitted, pull the middle twist to remove it, use a spoon handle to carefully push the exposed inner piece into the keg and then pull the bung out of the hole and fish the inner piece out by turning the keg upside down in the sink and rinsing out.

I bought some of those bungs so once I drink this I can re-use the keg.
