Hey, thanks for the interest.

And that's about the only positive thing here. My other project is really overrunning due to lack of time and the scope increasing at every turn (it was much worse than expected - so far more work to do). Building work is almost done now, but still a few weeks to go I think.

Once that's finished, I can get back to the garage. I can't believe its almost October already.

Basically, its just a matter of really unfortunate timing. The most frustrating thing was that I'd even bought ingredients - they're just sitting there, waiting for me.

You would be better getting experience working in another brewery. Any beer you produce now maybe hard to replicate on a much larger scale with different water etc

Might be a step I could take one day. For now, I'm an IT Contractor by day, with a rental property to renovate and dispose of
Then I can get some time to get stuck in as I'd expected to.

Wasn't expecting the house to get totally trashed and need a entire refurb right as I was ready to turn on the burners.

If I do get to the point where I want to ditch the IT job and do this, I'll have a decision to make as to how go about that.

At this stage in my life, my next choice is going to be working for myself - I'd worked for other people for too long (hence going freelance in IT already & a toe-dipped in property)

Got a text off my mate ages ago warning me that there was a load if water in there.
So went round, and make sure everything is off the ground.

But the water is a LOT less than it was. I've stopped 75%. The old solution would be to put a course of blocks in, with a water resistant mix between the block and brick.
But to be honest, the water is clean, the floor is sealed, so its not making a mess & it dries up quickly. Its not actually doing any harm.

My biggest worry now is whether it will be too cold to brew ales in a month's time.

Still above you lol, its got me thinking about doing another larger now i brewed a great pilsner type a while ago :drink:

Have you a brew fridge or is it winter only lager brewing for you? Might have a go at a baltic porter myself once it gets cold outside. Don't need to worry about the beer freezing myself as it never gets that cold ouside in London during the winter even at night

Yeah i have a brew fridge, havent done any brewing for around a month my bottle stocks are getting very low down to around 200 at the min, must get back into it and stop been so lazy

At least you wont have to worry about the water it'll have turned to ice.
