I am preparing to brew a Beavertown Neck Oil Clone and wondering about the most suitable dry yeast for this style. One recipe has US05 another has Lalbrew Verdant IPA. Any thoughts on this?
I like how the Sainsbury's website tells you the yeast is US-05. It's not the world that I grew up in.https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/beavertown-neck-oil-4x330ml
Yeah it's actually listed in the ingredients as US05
Sainsbury's has an open source mandate on all beers.I like how the Sainsbury's website tells you the yeast is US-05. It's not the world that I grew up in.
You will find the recipe on brewfather. There are a few options but the one I am brewing is from Aran Morland. According to my research, that may be the best one. If you can't find it let me know and I will send you the recipe when I am able to access it on my computer tomorrow.Hi David
Do you have a link to the Neck Oil recipe, please?
Hope you can find the recipe on Brewfather. Just in case you can't here is mine scaled to 12L from Aron Morland's 23L batch.Hi David

It will be us-05. Neck oil isn't hoppyI would expect that Beavertown uses US-05, or something very similar. But Verdant would be a good shout, it is really good for fruity hoppy ales. Either yeast would be good.
Hope you can find the recipe on Brewfather. Just in case you can't here is mine scaled to 12L from Aron Morland's 23L batch.

Based on other comments, you may want to use US05 rather than Verdant.Apologies for not thanking you earlier. Very much appreciated. I owe you a homebrew...
