I have noticed that the weaker the beer (my last brew was 1.2%) the looser the yeast pancake is. Has anybody else seen that, and an explanation as to why would be great. I use Safale 04 yeast, one sachet regardless of brew volume.

Never noticed this phenomenon myself before, but one explanation could be the liquid (beer) above the yeast is (I assume) heavier because (I guessing here) there will be more unfermentable sugars in a a larger beer then a smaller one

Stronger beer makes the yeast sleep more heavily.

Make a RIS and sometimes you can hear it happily snoring.
