Just received my 10L keg, very promptly - good service.
As I am not priming my beer (Dark Star Festival) I am cranking the pressure up to 12 to start so there is CO2 absorbed into the beer before I drop it back to 6 for serving. Hoping for a light head and good lacing; pictures to follow. Cribbed this general idea from Treebeard above - thanks. Anyone else tried the same?

So if you don't need to prime the batch, how long after fermentation is the beer ready for drinking?
The thought of not having to spend 2 hours bottling up, followed by at least 2 weeks conditioning excites me.

Yep - me too - apart from the convenience of having keg beer available as required and handy to carry to friends etc - reduced bottling effort was a real attraction. Having said that - still had a couple of dozen bottles to fill from a 23L batch.
This is my first kegging so very much experimenting at the moment, but I think some conditioning in the keg would still be a good thing, no idea how much though. I intend to taste-test every few days over the next couple of weeks.

I'm in no hurry (and I hate spending money) so I always add 1g of Brewing Sugar per litre of brew for carbonation.

This is mainly because I brew quite a bit of beer so I want the brew to be under pressure when it's not "on tap".

At the moment I have one 10 litre Growler in service with a B&M Ale whereas the other Growler is being carbonated in the fridge with Brewing Sugar.

The 1g/litre produces enough pressure in the Growler to stop any bugs entering and when I need to connect the Tap all I have to do is lift the Pressure Regulated Top to release excess CO2, unscrew it, replace it with the Tap and then connect up the CO2 gas cylinder.

We wanna see those beers!
Hey all - a big thank you again for all your support. I would love to get some photos and feedback/quotes from those using the Dark Farm Mini Keg up on the site! We will be posting them in a new section called Keg Cam :) Just post here on this thread and i'll make sure they are added. Prizes to be won!

From our friend in France! Thanks Rhoda
‘First outing for our beautiful Dark Farm mini keg. Fits in the fridge, looks great and is super sturdy. Plus it is easier than bottling - leaving more time for enjoying the beer in the sun with friends. Thanks guys!’

This looks awesome. Might have to purchase myself a 5 litre one. But if I buy the growler and the c02 tap will they fit together? Seems if you buy the two bits separately it's cheaper. Or am I missing something?

Just ordered 2 x 5ltr kegs and dispenser with a couple of pressure relief caps.
Looking forward to sticking some of my Simcoe & Citra in them once fermented out.
Thanks for the discount code Gareth.
