I know this pandemic has and still is taking its toll on everyone and we've all been affected and our life as normal has changed forever but what this post is for is to celebrate the happier side of life with the positives it has brought about to yourself or others you know.
I know I've grown closer to my family with this, have found myself again by taking interest in other hobbies, or helping others out and changing my life structure for the better.
Not looking negative posts just something positive if you have to offer regardless what it is as it's light hearted and uplifting...

COVID19 Positives

To be honest not much has changed for us we all have key jobs so we have basically carried on as normal with a bit of distancing thrown in.

Positives for me were the roads being so empty i could do my days work in a lot less time with no stopping to let people pass in the narrow lanes, i think the staycation lot have moved into the lakes in droves it was awful today. asad1

I’ve loved having extra time to look after the garden. Grown a few interesting vegetables, generally just tidied it up and enjoyed relaxing in it from time to time as well!

Having been forced into early retirement by the great recession in 2009 my income has not been affected. As a matter of fact the stimulus we got took a nice chunk out of our credit card debt. I'm hoping for another one before the election. If the economy stays bad and the democrats take over there's an outside chance that another stimulus or two might show up next year. If it does we could end up free and clear debtwise.

Nice idea for a thread. I've lost weight and gotten fitter, I've fulfilled a long-held ambition to keep chickens, and I've done loads of jobs around the house and garden that have needed doing. We've saved money and re-evaluated our priorities as a family.

The roads have certainly returned to normal as such and like yourself have been working right throughout but the changes within work are to remain at least until after the new year.

On my days off and holidays I've spent quite a bit of time creating things for the garden where it's great to relax and have friends around be it social distancing.

We have actually managed to save a few pounds here as well with there being nowhere to go or socialise and that's with spending money on the home as well.

Done loads of jobs in the garden, laid a patio, layed floor in office. Made office desk (/bar in progress). Got much closer to the family and able to spend some quality time with the Mrs. Gives a different perspective on what I was spending my money on pre lockdown.

Been strangely a journey of discovery

being retired before all this started i returned to home brewing got as far as going ag then lockdown happened, we stayed in for 14 weeks the misses was on that list, i hit the brew kettle with a vengence i have really learned a lot about brewing and drank more than i should at my age my doctor a lovely lady would fall over if i told her clapai have slowed down again now, i am at that stage were i stay with my current set up or go to the next level, so to be honest i like this new normal just wish the traffic would bugger off that would be good, having a back yard helped a lot a bit of space i feel for those with kids in a high rise, enjoy your beer chaps and chapesses athumb..

Not much changed for me being a key worker, made me start brewing again tho so can't be all bad lol

I have been working at home all the way through, no furlough and I've kept my job. Positives are:
  • Not having to travel to work and back, saving 2 hours of each weekday.
  • Eating lunch with my family every day.
  • Not being in a crowded office in which I can't concentrate.
  • Going for more walks with my family and exploring our surrounding area more.
  • Waking up later
  • More time for brewing and getting jobs done. The weather has helped immensely too.
  • A big excuse not to go shopping in town centres and retail parks.
My employer has stated that working from home will be the new norm even once COVID-19 has gone/settled, so some of these positive are real long term benefits for me.

no real change for me, i just have not being to pub. had a couple of holidays canceled so i spoiled myself and bought a newer car.
Have had two holidays cancelled one being a 50th birthday surprise from my wife to Jerez MotoGP and a family holiday to Dunreil theme Park.
Got a BrewZilla though...

My wife like yours had to shield and only went back to work last week but she went to town decorating and exercising as well as finding me job after job but it's been worth it.

Well..it's not been easy really....struggled a bit to start and got in a poor mindset but we're all ok.
You're not on your own as I was on sertraline for depression (mild) and at the start I stopped taking it but had to go back to it about 2 months ago as the missus noticed me distancing myself so back to normal as can be.
