If I am bottling bright carbonated beer from the corny say after 2 weeks will it last and stay carbonated as long as "bottle conditioned"???
Yes. . . As long as you are able to purge the bottle before filling as this prevents oxidation which can cause premature staling. . . .Also fill slowly from the bottom of the bottle as low temperatures help keep the CO2 in solution. . . . I also find carbonating a touch higher than normal also assists in keeping the correct level of carbonation in the beer when opened. . . . If it foams on filling this is a good ting and cap onteh foam as the bottle has been flushed with CO2 at this point.

in view of the above coments i am thinking that before i fill my corni is it worth trying to fill with co2 first ? will the gas stay there ????? :hmm:

I don't use cornies but, CO2 is heavier than air, so even if you don't have a lid on your vessel it will tend to stay in it, particularly if it is colder than the ambient air temperature.

Fill the corny with no rinse sanitiser (I use boiling water). then blow the sanitiser out of the corny using CO2 . . . when the corny is empty of sanitiser it is full of CO2 . . . I fill through the beer out dip tube .. . but it's a bit slow . . .if you drop the end of your syphon tube to the bottom of the corny through the lid hole you will displace CO2 as you fill.

right i just tried this

either im stupid or i ( answers on a postcard)

i ended up siphoning as normal to the keg via the connector
pushed out the sanitizer with co2
then whenever i connect the line in to the siphon tube to draw the beer in i just get gas out, blows it everywhere

give me a clue please

Release the excess pressure in the corny by lifting the PRV First ;)

Or attach a Grey Disconnect and let the gas out . . .then fill via the Beer in (Black Post . . .You will need to let the gas out while syphoning . . . or it will eventually stop . .. Lift the PRV while filling ;)

Cool ill give that a try but my gas just ran out. Now I need to find someone in Manchester area to fill it.
