What can I prime my keg with for this stout. The brew shop told me about 100gms of normal sugar is that ok for my normal plastic keg or should I use a tin of treacle as well as or instead of?

Any ideas welcome

What did you brew it with? I wouldn't double-treacle it, but if you brewed it with sugar/dme/beer kit enhancer, then priming with treacle would enhance the flavour...

EDIT - not a tin of treacle though. Not unless you want an explosion... probably about 100g will be more than enough.

Didnt use any treacle just enhancer (cant remember exactly but it was light brown colour - im useless with remembering the important things.

So just use 100gms of treacle and forget the sugar?

You'll get 100% yield from table sugar, treacle around 74%.

That should be OK for the priming.

I'm about to make one of these kits. Any suggestions? I would usually use 500g brewing sugar 500g medium spray malt (the light brown colour one) but wondering whether to go to 1Kg spray malt and even the dark one?

Firdt time ive done this one but mine was with half brew sugar and half medium spray malt ye really wouldnt know what difference would be or even if youd notice it.

Once done ill update on how it is but impression i get is that everyone loves this kit however theyve done it not seen one bad review so looking forward to it

I'm just about to bottle my cooper stout
I used the kit with tesco beer enhancer and a full tin of black treacle
It went mad for 24 hours then seem to die I was worried and help from here and a friend I tested it and I started with 1044 and finished with 1006
Then people were saying bottle it or leave it for another week and my friend said which I did transfer it to another fermenter for a week
So I'm the same trying to find out the quanties for batch priming as I not done it before first batch was a bitter and I did that per bottle
I calculate after googling how much sugar in a teaspoon would be about 80grams fir half teaspoon per 500ml bottle
Which a sugar calculator says 105 grams

When I carbonate my young's type kegs with 85grams of table sugar I get very foamy beer for the first half of the keg. The young's keg I got from wilcos came with a sticker on it saying, 'Do not carbonate with more than 85g of sugar.' The lid will have a relief valve in it, but I'd rather not chance that working for my own situation. Even with 85gm it is not unusual for teh taps to leak because of the pressure.
