Hi I bottled my lager 10 days ago and could not resist trying one it was quite flat and still a bit cloudy is this normal will it improve with time?
This is my first beer so I am a complete novice

Hi,
Good choice of kit to start.

You bottled 10 days ago. Did you prime before bottling?
You then need to store them somewhere warm around 20°c for 10-14 days where they should undergo a small secondary fermentation and carbonate then you can store them cold for 4-6 weeks where the beer should clear.

I bottled mine 12 days ago now Coopers Canadian Blonde. But i tried one on day 10 and it too was a bit flat. I put the whole batch somewhere warmer and tried one last night. It was much better still a little watery but im sure this will improve in a week or two.

Are you using pet bottles or glass. I found i can pick out the most carbed beer with a simple squeeze of the bottle. The harder the bottle the more fizz. Cant do this with glass.

Thanks.

i did prime them with a carbonation drop in each one but stored them in my under stairs cupboard probably at 16 degrees so i will move them next to my fermenter which stays at around 21 degrees. thank you for replies already started a wheat beer which tastes great when i tried some from hydrometer tube!!!

yeah keep them in the warm as a rule of thumb you keep them at the same temp you fermented the wort at for about 2-3 weeks usually does it for me, then move them some where to condition and the longer you can leave it the better it will taste. :thumb:
