I've just been bought a 25L pressure keg and quite fancy the idea of putting my latest batch of cider in there for convenience. My question is, this time of year its relatively cold outside so its not too much of an issue having a nice cold pint when i want one as i usually keep my brews in the garage, but as we approach the summer months, is there a way of cooling it for bbqs etc?

Give it a couple of hours in a bath of water and ice before the BBQ, not quite as easy as putting it in a fridge... But if you don't have enough room in the fridge (or so your wife says...) then its a good option. Just avoid unsettling too much sediment.

Unless you have a supply of compressed gas you want to waste. Evaporating gas requires lots of heat.....

Just thinking outside the box.

There's your answer

Seriously, try freecycle or free ads, gumtree etc - you can quite often get one for a bargain. Free ones rarely pop up around me, but I got a nearly new six foot larder fridge for £40 off gumtreee :thumb:
