Hello.

I see a lot of threads that suggest chilling beers reduce the carbonation, does that mean that they should not be chilled in the fridge for any length of time. My lager is in 500ml pet bottles at the moment. Seconds week of conditioning. I have put all but 5 in the shed, and the others in the fridge. Will they not condition in there, and will they lose carb.

Thanks

Steve

they will condition just fine in fridge , and you will only get a slight less fizz but if you have a good carbonation all will be great, i do this and mine are great :thumb: :thumb:

You need to leave them at room temp for about a week after they've been bottled for them to become carbonated. Thereafter you should move them somewhere cold to condition. You shouldn't lose much if any fizz whilst conditioning (unless they freeze and that is the start of a whole other thread).

Cool.

thanks for your responses, the beers have been conditioning in the airing cupboard for a week now, bottles nice and hard.

Thanks
