Co2 transfer loop

I am now 'just' using my own co2 for cornies. First few tests.

It occurs to me me I need a transfer loop. In its simplest form this is a gas to gas hose.

But far better might be a manifold with a pressure gauge each side (in & out) and a valve in the middle?

Has seen anything similar or tried anything similar?

Not sure what you are trying to achieve so I’m probably way off but would a spunding valve with a check valve work ?

Ooo that could be a good thing to modify yeah.

I want to use both gas ports to transfer gas between cornies.

Or put another way I am using one corny as a low pressure co2 cylinder the other for beer.

I fancy a low pressure gauge on side, to be able to set dispense pressure on the corny week beer.

A normal homebrew gas manifold has a valve on each output so that would work with secondary regulators or inline pressure gauges.

From a usage point, I see this as a topup device for cornies with primed beer and a good headspace.
Pop on, adjust, remove.

Nothing to do with force carb.

I have a Corny with Sugar and Champagne yeast to make backup gas using a spunding valve.. I also have a purged 2L Pet Bottle with a carbonation cap used only as a C02 flask .

All my fermentation is done in pressure fermenters sometimes using a blowoff or a spunding valve.

If i used a spundy then a closed loop transfer is easy as the fermenter is already under pressure.
If I used a blowoff I need some pressure to start the pressure transfer , which is where the 2L PET bottle comes in. I pressurise it from the Co2 corny and use it to temporarily pressureise my fermenter to allow for a closed loop transfer. Simples.

I am now wondering if I should start using the Co2 corny to push starsan out of a couple of daisychained kegs with the spundy at the end of the daisychain.. to have clean, oxygen free cornys ready to fill .

That then begs another question, why dont we capture the Co2 off of a pressure ferment to push starsan through a daisychain?

It's a regulator. Gauge side is output. If you want to measure the input side, you could just add a spunding valve with the regulator screwed all the way in.

This is gas to gas.

No liquid will be harmed in the making of this experiment

no your right, and its deffo an issue . Id have to monitor making sure the kegs were rejiggd to make sure the starsan mever reached the keg with the valve in..
I have loads of kegs so I envisage the daisychain to look like - keg1 co2 generator - keg 2 starsan - keg3 empty - keg4 empty with a check valve and spundy @ say 35psi . as soon as keg 2 is purged rejig the chain. or alternativle daisychain all my washed kegs

Good find. Yeees.
This setup on both kegs. Connected together at one blowtie (acting as a valve). Opening the blowtie allows gas flow. Closing it enables reading of both pressures.
