This seems a bit more complex than the one I had envisaged? The spunding valve is fully open, but the pressure into the destination keg is reduced by the inline regulator which shows the pressure on the output side. The open spunding valve's manometer shows the pressure on the input side.

Why two regs? Imo I can only think that makes it a pita to operate.

Or have I missed the point.. Lunch and a think is called for...
 
I agree setting a pressure (spunding valve) is a good idea but a spund is operating the wrong way round.

I want for bring up the lower pressure UP in the dispense keg, not maintain what's in the co2

It might be a bit confusing. I only have the spunding valve in there for pressure measurement on the CO2 side (source). The T-piece and gauge setup would work just as well. The white unit is a regulator, so you can reduce the pressure in the destination keg. The gauge on that unit (white) gives you the pressure in the destination keg.
 
Not a huge ammount of faff that I can see... And on the plus side, no co2 cost, stress or hassle.

I'm talking about the one gauge loop. To set the pressure on the demand side, you have to do a fair bit of trial and error. You're setting the inline regulator blind, opening the supply side valve and then closing it again so that you can read the gauge. Rinse and repeat until you reach your desired demand side pressure.

Couldn't be arsed with all that. Just have a gauge on each side and you can fire and forget.
