I had the same problem recently. Couldn't find any washers locally and had to wait a week for ebay delivery.
I found a rubber keg post O ring makes a fine substitute.

Just took it off with relative ease, have it a wipe down and popped it back on, same issue. But what is worrying me is that the gas leak is coming from the same place, what’s the odds that I put it back on at the exact same way?!

I'd say the odds are very low but the leaked gas may make its way around the thread and come out the same place. Anyway, when you take the regulator off and look into the recess where the nylon washer would sit can you see anything wrong? Imperfections, grit, anything at all other than a perfectly flat polished surface. A small magnifying glass might help.

Hi all, thanks again for the help with this one

Ive attached some pictures, and I’m wondering whether that small imperfection that you may see, is my problem? What do you think? Not sure whether you can even see it, but picture one around 9 o’clock...or picture 3 at around 7 o’clock

Could that be a crack in picture 4 at nine o'clock?
Just checked and it is the light that’s reflecting down, however right at the top of that, is the small imperfection I’m referring to...

it's only the two surfaces that touch the top and the bottom of the seal that matter; I can't see enough detail to see if that sealing surface is marred.

Cheers mate, i guess I’ll have to wait for these new washers to come and see if that makes a difference, if not then it’s a new regulator!

In preparation for that, does anyone have recommendations of a decent enough place for a new regulator?
 
HAZZAR! A simple change of washer did the trick, so the lager is now carbonating as I type.

What’s the recommendation on getting her carbed up, what PSI is recommended? I would usually look at 12-14psi for a couple of days, then serve at 4psi?
 
Which washers did you buy in the end? can you put a link to the site please as I will probably get a couple of spares, just incase athumb..
 
Hi @Tinymcfc, depends on the tap and line you have, I have the tap that just connects to the corny(without any pipes) and need no more than 2 psi to decant.
I have two, that setup you’ve just mentioned and one with about 10” of tubing. So to carbonate up does 12-14psi sound right? I’d like to try it today but doubt I’ll get it carbonated within the hour haha!
 
If you want to carb it over a couple of days then around 15psi would be good if the corny is in the cold, longer if it's not in a fridge or a cold space. If you want to carb it overnight then set to 30psi(in the cold) or 40psi if not cold, purge and decant at 2 - 3psi. Now if you want to force carb it then get the beer cold and put the psi onto 30, with the corny on the floor rock the corny for around 15 - 20 minutes and you will hear the C02 going into the keg, put it back in the fridge and let it settle down for a few hours, purge and then decant at what suits your setup :smallcheers: thanks for the link to the washers.

Cheers buddy, it’s all coming back to me now. It’s in the fridge at around 3c so I’ve stuck her on at 30psi and will wait til tonight, drop it down to serving and have a look (taste!), then stick her back on 30psi until tomorrow
